On 23 and 24 March, the international study days on the topic "When agri-food cooperation grows, agriculture grows. Innovation in the Cooperative Model for Agriculture 4.0 in a comparison between Italy and France”, organized by the Accademia dei Georgofili and AGRINSIEME, are being held in Florence.
Over the course of three sessions, the work conducted will go into depth into the paths of aggregation and adaptation of agro-food cooperation to changes in the markets, policies and production contexts, analyzing new schemes and organizational models focused on the following questions: equipping oneself with all tools necessary in order to compete is an imperative that cannot be avoided, but has the cooperative model lost its originality along that path? Or could it be that instead the new organizational models contain key solutions to be explored? Upon what bases can we look at agri-food cooperation today with renewed interest? What are the supports offered by policies?
Ersilia Di Tullio, Nomisma's Head of Co-operation, is making a presentation entitled "Evolution of Italian Agro-Food Cooperatives from mutual mission to Market challenges" during the second session (March 24, 9:30 am – 1:00 pm at the Santa Apollonia Auditorium, Via San Gallo 25, Florence).

Bologna, Palazzo Varignana - The launch event of Agrifood Monitor: figures and methodologies for the Italian agro-industrial system.

In global rankings, Italy is not only one of the main exporters of agricultural and food products (reaching almost 37 billion euros in 2015), but also is among the leaders in the export of machinery for agriculture and food & beverages with a total value of over 11 billion euros.

The Made in Italy agro-industrial system represents an important component of the national economy, currently struggling with increasingly demanding challenges and changes to the market.
The Agrifood Monitor was developed jointly by Nomisma and CRIF to support Italian businesses in overcoming these challenges. Thanks to thirty years of experience in agribusiness, the availability of innovative and original tools that are useful in understanding market trends, as well as partnerships with other institutions and companies that can provide strategic information (Sose, Unioncamere Emilia Romagna, CRIF Ratings), Agrifood Monitor is the online information platform that serves businesses and stakeholders in the agribusiness system in interpreting and responding to the development trends in the national and international context.

The July 12 event will not only be an opportunity for presenting the contents of the Agrifood Monitor platform, but also to get to know more about the competitive positioning, reputation and development opportunities for Made in Italy agro-industrial products in the world. In particular, through the results of consumer surveys, current trends in two markets with considerable potential (the UK and the UAE) will be presented, and a round table involving the main protagonists of the Italian agro-industrial sector will help to gain an understanding of the real challenges in the market.
