Gian Maria GROS-PIETRO - President
He is the President of Credito Piemontese since 2009. He is also an independent advisor of listed companies Fiat, Edison, Credito Valtellinese and Caltagirone, as well as Censis and Cotec Foundations.
He is a Member of the Board of Directors and the Council of Confindustria and is President of Federtrasporto, the federation of transport companies that are associates of Confindustria. Furthermore, he is a member of the General Council of the Assonime, as well as the Board of Directors and Council of the Industrial Union of Rome. Professor of Business Economics at the LUISS Guido Carli University of Rome, he heads the Department of Economic and Business Sciences. Previously he was President of Atlantia (formerly Autostrade), Eni and Iri. Member of the Board of the University of Torino in the capacity of representative of CNR for more than a decade, he has been a member of various other boards (of Finmeccanica, Teknecomp, Cassa di Risparmio di Torino, Perseo, Anas and Itainvest among others).
From 1974 to 1995 he directed Ceris, the main economic body of the National Research Council (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, CNR). He was involved in the management and analyses of investments and of innovation and innovation strategies of businesses. He is on the scientific Committee of the periodical publications “L’Industria” and “Mercato, Concorrenza e Regole” and heads the scientific committee of the Cotec Foundation.

With a degree in Economics and Business from the University of Cassino, he subsequently earned a PhD in Economics of Food resources and Environment at the Parthenopean University Institute of Naples (2002). He is a Researcher on Rural Economics and Evaluation at the University of Bologna, currently working as a seconded National Expert for agricultural and food policy issues at the Department for Internal Policies of the European Parliament.

Graduated in Economics and Business from the University of Bologna, he went on to specialize as a Research Student in Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Associate Professor of Industrial Economics at the University of Parma; since 2003 he has held the Jean Monnet Chair. He also regularly teaches courses in two Graduate Schools: European Industrial Policy at the Advanced Diploma and Master in European Studies (Ades) at the European College of Parma, and Media Economics at the University of Bologna «Ilaria Alpi» School of Journalism.
Previously, he was Adjunct Professor in Industrial Economics at the Forlì-based Faculty of Economics of the University of Bologna, and he worked as a Research assistant at the «Centro di Economia e Politica Industriale» of the same University.
Member of the Editorial Board of «l’Industria – Rivista di Economia e Politica Industriale». In 2006 he was called by UniCredit Banca, Bologna, to set up its Research Department, where he was then appointed Scientific Director from June 2006 to December 2008.
He has regularly contributed leading articles to both national and local newspapers and magazines - he has about 250 editorials to his credit. He is currently a columnist for the Corriere di Bologna.

Giorgio PRODI
With a Degree in Economics and Business from the University of Bologna, he subsequently earned a Master of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (1997) and a PhD in Economics and Institutions from the University of Bologna (2002). He is a researcher in applied economics at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ferrara.

Gianfranco VIESTI
Full professor of Applied Economics at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Bari. In the past twenty years he has worked with the OECD and the World Bank as well as with the Italian government, regional administrations and local institutions in defining policies for local and regional development. From July 2009 to April 2010 he was Councillor for Southern Italy and for the Right to Education of the Puglia Region.
