Nomisma is a well-known Italian economic research institute founded in 1981 in Bologna. Since then, it has carried out research activities, policy advice and technical assistance to international, national and local public bodies and private enterprises on applied economics issues, factors of production, industrial policy, regional planning and development and growth.

Nomisma's clients are private and public companies, ministries, banks, foundations, public bodies, trade associations and international organisations.

Nomisma is divided into research units, characterised by multidisciplinary team working.

Over the 30 years of its life, Nomisma has developed expertise in infrastructure projects feasibility, sector analysis in the study of real estate and business services, and establishment of permanent observatories. A main part of the activity is focused on policy advice and technical assistance to national and international entities on regional development issues.
