2006 Migration Characteristics and Return Paths of Migrants Working in Veneto

The study is part of a wider initiative aimed at fostering the contribution of trans-national migrants to the development of their home regions, through labour mobility programs, and support to migrant entrepreneurship.

The study meant to provide concerned administrations and stakeholders with innovative service solutions to promote the return and circulation of labour migration in relation to development dynamics.

In order to expand the knowledge base and the understanding of migration trends and of social and economic issues associated with the phenomenon of migration, the study investigated the potential linkages between people mobility and development perspectives between territories and productions of home and host regions, analysed current EU policies and national set-ups regulating trans-national labour mobility, including within the EU, analysed relevant policies and practices worldwide, and examined actual migration and investment trends in Veneto and in target countries in East and South Europe.
