27 July 2015 - The organic agricultural sector abroad

ICE (The Italian Trade Agency) and Sana (International Exhibition of Organic and Natural products organised by Bologna Fiere) have promoted an Observatory with the aim of monitoring the organic agricultural sector abroad.  Federbio (Italian Federation of Organic and Biodynamic Agriculture) and Assobio (National Association of processing and distribution companies of organic and natural products) collaborate on the project, convinced of the need to set up, in favor of the sector operators and enterprises, data and analysis on the opportunities of the BIO Made in Italy internationalisation.

The implementation of the Observatory has been entrusted to Nomisma, which has dealt with the study of the organic supply chain for years.

The results of the Sana and ICE Observatory will be presented to stakeholders and to the media in a conference that will take place on September 12th on the occasion of Sana 2015.

A crucial work phase of the Observatory concerns the realisation of a survey involving agri-food enterprises with the most representative biological Italian brand products. The data that will be collected will form a unique information asset as the absence of a customs codes classification for certified organic products prevents the detection of the continuous imports and exports flows.

The survey of agri-food enterprises will end at the beginning of August 2015.

We would like to thank  the companies involved in the survey for their kind collaboration reminding that the data collected will be used to develop valuable information for all companies operating in this sector.
